Peppermint OS: Lightweight Linux Distribution With Pre-Installed Cloud Applications

Peppermint OS is a Linux distribution based on Lubuntu. It aims to be fast, easy-to-use, and ready for web. Peppermint uses "Ice" technology which is created by Kendall Weaver, the creator of Peppermint OS. With Ice technology, Peppermint OS can integrate seamlessly with Cloud and web based application.


Peppermint OS uses LXDE as its desktop environment. It comes with many Cloud and Internet based applications, such as Chromium for web browser, Pixlr Image Editor, Facebook, last.fm, Google Docs, YouTube, Google Mail and more! For media player support, it uses Guayadeque Music Player and Gnome Media Player. Peppermint OS simply out of the box operating system, you can easily get going and get things done.

System requirements:
For running Peppermint OS you must have at least:
  • 192 MB of RAM
  • Processor based on Intel x86 architecture
  • At least 2 GB of available disk space
However, if you want get greater performance of Peppermint OS, you should have:
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • Processor based on Intel x86 architecture
  • At least 4 GB of available disk space
