Mark Shuttleworth announced the codename for Ubuntu 12.10. This Ubuntu Linux release due out in October will be codenamed the Quantal Quetzal.
Mark says via his blog, “I give you the Quantal Quetzal, soon to be dressed in tessellated technicolour, now open for toolchains, kernels and other pressing preparatory packages.”
Ubuntu 12.10 will focus on the quality of the popular Linux distribution, among other features.
Apart from Quality Quantal Quetzal, will also come with refreshing look and feel with the new Icon theme & typography.
The Ubuntu 12.10 release schedule puts the official release out on the 18th of October.
Coming up in early May will be the Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal UDS (Ubuntu Developer Summit) out in Oakland, California.
Meanwhile, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS “Precise Pangolin” will be released this Thursday.
