Install XFCE4 Terminal on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal
As I use Xubuntu, this release makes me excited to install. You can install it too by executing the following command:
- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.12
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install xfce4-terminal
Set shortcut for the drop down Terminal!
If you are using Xubuntu too, I'll show step by step tutorial on how to set shortcut to XFCE4 Terminal dropdown style.
Open the application menu and choose "Settings Manager > Keyboard", and open the "Application Shortcuts" tab.
Click the "Add" button to add a new shortcut, a new dialog window appear (see the picture below).
Fill in the "Command" field with "xfce4-terminal --drop-down" (without quotes) and then press "OK". You will be asked to assign keyboard shortcut to the command you've entered. In this example, I use F12 but you can use any keyboard shortcut you like.
You've done! The result should look like this.
Now, everytime you press F12, XFCE4 Terminal will be opened with dropdown style! Just like Guake and Yakuake. Regards :)
